Our Commitment

Quick Poll is built with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data and never sell your information.

What We Collect

Poll Data

  • Poll questions and options (you create these)
  • Poll settings (time limit, multiple choice, etc.)
  • Vote counts per option
  • Timestamps of poll creation and votes

Anonymous Voter IDs

We generate a random ID stored in your browser's localStorage to prevent duplicate voting. This ID is:

  • Randomly generated
  • Not linked to your identity
  • Stored only in your browser
  • Can be deleted by clearing browser data

What We DON'T Collect

  • Names or email addresses
  • IP addresses
  • Location data
  • Device information
  • Browsing history
  • Any personal identifiable information

How We Use Data

The data we collect is used solely to:

  • Display poll questions and options
  • Count and display votes
  • Prevent duplicate voting
  • Enforce time limits

Data Storage & Retention

Poll data is stored in Supabase (a secure database service). All polls and votes are automatically deleted 24 hours after the poll expires. We don't keep old data around.

Third-Party Services

We use:

  • Supabase - Database and real-time updates
  • Vercel - Hosting (if deployed there)

These services have their own privacy policies. We don't share any personal data with them because we don't collect it.

Cookies

We don't use cookies. We use localStorage (browser storage) to store your anonymous voter ID. This is not a cookie and is not sent to our servers.

Your Rights

You can:

  • Clear your voter ID by clearing browser data
  • Stop using the service at any time

Since we don't collect personal information, there's no account to delete or data to export.

Security

We use industry-standard security practices:

  • HTTPS encryption for all connections
  • Supabase Row Level Security (RLS) for database access
  • No passwords or sensitive data stored

Children's Privacy

Quick Poll is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
